Overview

MIT Medical’s Transgender Health service is available for telehealth visits and limited in-person appointments. No walk-ins. Contact your primary care provider by phone or via HealthELife with any questions or concerns.

MIT Medical is committed to providing comprehensive, supportive, personalized healthcare and information to individuals with diverse expressions of gender and sexuality. We understand that gender identity exists within a broad spectrum and that transgender people and those with questions about gender identity may have unique needs that require experienced and supportive healthcare providers and services. (See also LGBTQ Health at MIT Medical.)

Services available to transgender people at MIT Medical include:

  • Primary care from a healthcare provider who is knowledgeable about transgender issues
  • Hormonal treatment
  • Mental health care and counseling
  • Comprehensive gynecological care
  • Referrals and letters of support to appropriate specialists and surgeons

The clinicians listed below provide care to our transgender community and work with MIT Medical’s Gender and Sexual Identity Care Team, a group that provides coordinated care for transgender patients who want access to medical transitioning services. The list below includes providers from Student Mental Health and Counseling Services, Primary Care, and Community Wellness at MIT Medical. All have received special training on the health needs of transgender individuals. Transgender patients are not required to see clinicians on this team, but these providers may serve as a place to start when looking for a care provider in a specific clinical area.
