Diabetes management

MIT Medical provides comprehensive diabetes care that draws on the expertise of clinicians from many medical specialties:
  • Primary care: Your primary care provider (PCP) is your care coordinator. They will refer you to other services at MIT Medical.
  • Nutrition: A registered dietitian can help you learn more about the relationship between food and health and offer advice about what to eat. No referral necessary.
  • Eye Service: The American Diabetes Association recommends eye examinations with pupil dilation for all people with diabetes. Your clinician will recommend when and how often you should be examined based on the type of diabetes you have. MIT Medical’s Eye Service uses advanced technology to diagnose and monitor a variety of eye diseases, including diabetic retinopathy. Optometrists and ophthalmologists at MIT Medical have expert training in the detection and management of diabetic eye disease. No referral necessary.
