Telephone-based language interpreter services
If you don’t feel confident speaking English, you can use our telephone interpreter service for your office visits or phone calls. More than 140 languages are available. When you call or come to the office, just say, “I want to use the interpreter line” or “I need an interpreter.” Our video demonstrates how to use this service.
Document translation
We can translate any of our medical documents or any written communication from your provider into your language. If you have medical forms in another language, we can have them translated into English, so your provider can read them. Just ask your provider or the front-desk staff for help.
American Sign Language services
If you or a family member needs an American Sign Language interpreter, tell us when you make an appointment. With advance notice, we can usually arrange for sign language interpreters at our Cambridge and Lexington locations. For same-day visits, a sign language interpreter is available through live video teleconferencing (similar to Skype). Just request this service from the front-desk staff when you arrive.
Assistive listening devices
If you have difficulty hearing, we can provide a listening device (a small personal sound amplifier) that can help you hear your provider during your appointment.
