Student Sexual Health Clinic

Overview

MIT Medical’s Sexual Health Clinic is available for sexually transmitted infection (STI) screening.

How do I make an appointment?

  • Call 617-253-4481, option 1 or
  • Schedule online — ONLY IF you do not currently have STI symptoms or a known, recent exposure. If you have symptoms or know that you have been recently exposed to an STI, you must call to make an appointment.

What does it cost?

You will have no out-of-pocket cost for appointments at MIT Medical or for STI tests that can be processed in the MIT Medical Laboratory. While the MIT Medical Laboratory can perform most STI tests, there are times when you might need a test that we must send to an outside laboratory, which will bill your insurance.

Will my STI testing and treatment be kept private?

Information about STI testing and treatment is confidential in Massachusetts, even if you are a minor. We won’t share information about your medical care with parents or other family members unless you tell us to.

Note: In those rare situations when we need to send your test to a laboratory outside of MIT Medical, the laboratory will bill your insurance. If the insurance does not cover the test in full, the insurance company will send an invoice to the address they have on file. If that address is your home address, your parents or guardians may see the bill.
