How to make an appointment
- Cambridge: Call 617-253-1505
- Lexington: Call 781-981-7080
When you call, tell us why you are making the appointment. This is very important, because it allows us to schedule the right kind of appointment and the right number of appointments. For example, if your child only needs a shot, he or she can have a short appointment with a nurse rather than a longer appointment with a PCP.
For pediatric patients: Pediatric coverage is available until 6 p.m. on regular business days and from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on holidays and weekends. Please call 617-253-4481 before coming in to find out if a pediatric clinician is available.
You may make a consultation appointment to speak privately with your child’s PCP without your child in the room. For example, you might use a consultation appointment to discuss certain medical issues or concerns about your child’s behavior.
Appointments for adolescents
If your child is a teenager, he or she may want to see a healthcare provider in a more adult setting than the first-floor Pediatrics Service. Several of our providers offer appointments for adolescents and young adults in separate offices on the second floor of MIT Medical/Cambridge. If your teenager would prefer to be seen on the second floor, just ask when you call to schedule the appointment.
Be on time!
Try to arrive 10–15 minutes before the time of your scheduled appointment. If you are late for your appointment, we may not be able to see you, and you will need to reschedule.
