You are not required to choose a PCP, but an MIT Medical PCP can help to coordinate the care you receive at MIT Medical and elsewhere.
A student on a different insurance plan
Call MIT Medical at 617-258-9355, press 4 to reach Primary Care, and tell us the name of the PCP you want to select.
Even if you already have a PCP outside of MIT, we encourage you to select a campus care provider. Your campus care provider can communicate with your off-campus PCP to coordinate your care.

You are not eligible to select a PCP at MIT Medical.
An MIT employee or family member covered by the MIT Traditional Health Plan
Email Patient Billing Services at billing@med.mit.edu or call 617-253-5979, and tell us the name of the PCP you want to select.
An MIT employee or family member covered by the MIT Choice Plan
Contact Blue Cross Blue Shield at 1-800-821-1388 with the PCP information or log in to the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts website or your MyBlue app and enter the provider number of the PCP you want to select.
An employee or covered family member on the MIT High Deductible Health Plan
Call MIT Medical at 617-258-9355, press 4 to reach Primary Care, and tell us the name of the PCP you want to select.

An MIT retiree or Medicare recipient
Contact your primary care provider’s office to update your PCP information.
