We encourage all MIT students to choose a primary care provider (PCP) at MIT Medical. The PCP will be your student’s personal clinician while they are at school. Your student will make an appointment with their PCP for physical exams, or non-emergency problems, like a cough that isn’t getting better or a minor injury. PCPs can also help manage chronic conditions.
Your student’s PCP will be a doctor or nurse practitioner who specializes in internal medicine, family medicine, or adolescent medicine. MIT students cannot choose a pediatrician as a PCP, even if they are under 18 years old.
