Senior Staff Accountant
SENIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT, MIT Medical, to coordinate financial activities and perform as a department lead for general accounting functions. Duties include preparing and reviewing accounts payable and receivable actions, cash deposits, and associated general ledger reviews for MIT Medical. Will also be accountable for multiple reconciliations and auditing programs to ensure accuracy and fiscally responsible use of Medical budget dollars; manage high visibility, complex, and/or sensitive payments; develop notifications and recommendations to leadership as to best options for leveraging utilization of payment dollars; and train department financial assistants. May oversee temporary staff.
REQUIRED: a bachelor’s degree; a minimum of three years of experience in accounting or finance; thorough understanding of job responsibilities, procedures, and practices, including financial operations outside of own area; meticulous attention to detail; strong analytical, organizational skills, customer service, and written and oral communication skills; discretion and good judgment with confidential information and/or issues; ability to identify and recommend solutions to complex problems and take initiative to implement and/or improve established financial processes in support of operational area; strong computer skills that include intermediate-level proficiency with Excel and Word; knowledge of SAP or similar accounting package; and relational database skills (Brio Query and/or Cognos strongly preferred).
