Registered Nurse, Primary Care
REGISTERED NURSE (RN), PRIMARY CARE, MIT Medical, to provide nursing care to the patient population of assigned service area. Will provide direct patient care according to age-specific plans of care within the scope of practice of a registered nurse; apply nursing knowledge through the principles of telephone and waiting room triage; utilize established guidelines in response to each patient’s needs, accessing data, interpreting age-specific needs, and providing nursing care in collaboration with others; and play a critical role in providing health education, supportive counseling, and clinical outreach to the MIT community in collaboration with other individuals/services at MIT Medical.
REQUIRED: graduation from an accredited nursing program; current RN license in Massachusetts; CPR certification; at least three years’ experience as an RN in pediatrics, women’s health, or family medicine in an ambulatory clinic or private practice setting; fluency with EMR systems, preferably Cerner; and experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access). Must be able to summarize and communicate--in English--moderately complex information verbally and in varied written formats; collaborate with providers, medical assistants, patient service representatives and other key stakeholders to ensure that patients receive optimal clinical care; attend clinical meetings; provide a high level of customer service and staff training to meet customer service standards and expectations; resolve service issues in a timely and respectful manner; and respond to patient telephone calls--received during normal business hours--within twenty-four hours of receipt.
PREFERRED: allergy immunotherapy and anti-coagulation management experience. Job #19320
