Nurse Practice Manager
NURSE PRACTICE MANAGER, MIT Medical (2 openings), to manage the day-to-day operations and practice functions of an assigned service area. Will serve as a principal resource on all operational matters for the assigned area and possibly as a consultant to nurse practice managers of other service areas; monitor provider schedules to ensure that appropriate front line staff is present and a reasonable number of patients are scheduled in order to best facilitate the timely care of patients; and develop and implement initiatives to improve patient satisfaction and monitor data to evaluate effectiveness of interventions. The position involves extensive interaction with physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, clinical nurses, medical assistants, front desk reception staff, administrative staff, and patients.
REQUIRED: Licensure as a registered nurse in Massachusetts; ACLS certification; BSN degree (master’s in nursing preferred); at least five years’ experience in nurse management, preferably in an ambulatory setting; demonstrated managerial, organizational, leadership, and verbal and written communication skills; and ability to mentor and direct others. Experience with quality assurance for all functions resulting in improved financial performance; working in a hospital, health insurance, or university health center pharmacy; and leading evidence-based clinical decision-making preferred. The ability to secure the cooperation of others in the pursuit of common objectives; set expectations and help create a vision; and work collaboratively with clinical providers, nursing, and support staff is also preferred. Seek someone well-versed in the relationships between third-party requirements, coding, documentation, billing equations, pricing updates, and organizational resources. Strong working knowledge of department improvement assessment/tools, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to meet time-sensitive deadlines and foster conflict resolution desirable.
