Medical Assistant, Primary Care
MEDICAL ASSISTANT, PRIMARY CARE, MIT Medical (2 openings), to assist physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurses with the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients during and between office visits and other tasks. Will serve as the primary liaison between clinical staff and patients; play an active role in preparing for the daily operations of patient visits and implementing key activities; lead the twice-daily huddle sessions to ensure all pertinent patient information is communicated between clinical staff and that all appropriate materials are available so that care is delivered effectively and efficiently; manage HealtheLife requests, ensuring patients comprehend medical treatment information provided by each provider and using the best medium to follow up with each patient to ensure treatment plan compliance; assure efficient patient flow through the office; maintain neat, clean, and safe patient care areas; administer vaccination and other clinical medical responsibilities; and perform other clinical and clerical duties as assigned.
REQUIRED: graduation from an accredited medical assistant program or a medical assistant certification (AAMA, CCMA, RMA, NCMA); two years’ experience, preferably in a related physician’s office setting; excellent critical thinking, communication, interpersonal, customer service, and diplomacy skills; ability to comply with established risk management and safety procedures and with all local, state, and federal privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations; sound judgment and problem solving skills; accuracy and attention to detail; ability to maintain CPR certification and participate in site-based CPR drills; strong organizational skills; and the ability to prioritize task sin a complex and busy environment and see them through to completion.
