Medical Assistant, Family Medicine

MEDICAL ASSISTANTMIT Medical, to assist physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurses with evaluation, management, and treatment of patients during and between office visits and perform other tasks. Will act as the primary liaison between clinical staff and patients; play an active role in preparing for the daily operations of patient visits as well as implementing key activities; lead twice-daily huddle sessions to ensure all pertinent patient information is communicated between clinical staff and have all appropriate materials available so that care is delivered effectively and efficiently; and manage HealthELife requests, ensure patients comprehend medical treatment information provided by each provider, and use the best medium to follow up with patients to ensure treatment plan compliance.  Will also ensure efficient patient flow through the office; maintain neat, clean, and safe patient care areas; administer vaccinations and perform other clinical medical responsibilities according to state laws and MIT Medical policies; and perform other clinical and clerical duties.

REQUIRED: Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program or medical assistant certification (AAMA, CCMA, RMA, NCMA); two years’ related experience in a physician’s office setting; excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal, diplomacy, customer service, problem-solving, and organizational skills; and attention to accuracy and detail. Must be able to comply with established risk management and safety procedures and local, state, and federal privacy and confidentiality rules/regulations; maintain CPR certification and participate in site-based CPR drills; prioritize and see tasks through to completion in a complex, busy environment; and lift/pull five pounds or more, including placing infants and children onto examination tables and/or weighing scales.
