Trained health and wellness coaches can help you achieve achieve your wellness goals  and connect with resources for accountability and support.

What is health and wellness coaching?

Health and wellness coaching is a customized approach to establishing healthy habits. A health coach can help you identify and plan your health goals, and provide supportive resources as you move toward those goals in a way that works best for you. 
 
Health and wellness coaching can help you achieve healthy habits in areas like:
  • Sleep
  • Regular physical activity
  • Eating habits
  • Managing and reducing stress
  • Motivation and work-life balance
  • Reducing or quitting smoking

Group Health-Coaching Workshops and Classes

Community Wellness at MIT Medical offers group health-coaching workshops and classes to help you find motivation, information, and inspiration for your wellness goals. For additional support, our health coaches will connect you with resources to help you create a personalized wellness plan that works for you.

Nutrition and Fitness

Community Wellness at MIT Medical co-developed this course for physical education credit through the Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation (DAPER). Topics include the components and benefits of a healthy diet and physical activity, as well as tips on achieving personal goals and boosting productivity.

Whether your goal is weight management, improved athletic performance, or managing a medical condition, MIT Recreation’s nutrition program can provide you with the tools you need to sustain a meal plan that fits your lifestyle.

  • To register for nutrition coaching, log in to your DAPER account, select the “Account Information” box, then select the “Buy Series Sales” box from the options that appear. On the Purchase Sales Series page, select “Nutrition” from the second dropdown menu.

An MIT Medical registered dietitian/nutritionist can provide consultations for dietary and medical needs. You will need a referral from a primary care provider (PCP) at MIT Medical.

Other Resources

The MIT Center for WorkLife and WellBeing offers free, confidential services for graduate students, staff, faculty, and postdocs to receive wellness consultations by phone for sleep, stress, nutrition, and other topics.
